Its Gothic architecture is a marvel of medieval craftsmanship and also the final resting place of Jonathan Swift author of Gulliver’s Travels.

3rd STOP

THE LIBERTIES

Immerse yourself in The Liberties, one of Dublin’s oldest and most characterful neighbourhoods. Dating back to the 12th century, this area once lay outside the city walls and later developed into a bustling industrial suburb for distillers and brewers. Today, it’s a vibrant mix of history and modernity.  Get off the beaten path and learn about the difficult housing conditions in 19th century Dublin (some things never change!) as we cycle past charming 19th artisan workers houses and their colourful doors.

4th STOP

GUINESS STOREHOUSE

Experience the story of Ireland’s most famous export at the Guinness Storehouse. Housed in a seven-story building shaped like a giant pint glass, this attraction offers a journey through the 250-year history of Guinness. We’ll stop off at one of the storehouses iconic gates to learn how Guinness became a best seller- from ‘the black stuff’ to its book of records and how the Guinness family have helped shape the city.

6th STOP

KILMAINHAM GAOL

Step back in time at Kilmainham Gaol, a former 18th century prison that played a dark yet crucial role in Irish history.
The austere building offers a poignant reminder of Ireland’s struggle for independence while the ‘proclamation’ memorial pays tribute to those executed here. Learn what led to this ill-fated rebellion and a surprise connection with Paddington!

7th STOP

ST PATRICK’S TOWER

After cycling past a few of the neighbourhoods distilleries we stop off at St Patrick’s Tower. Though no longer operational, its distinctive green copper dome remains an iconic landmark in the Liberties. One of the tallest windmills in Europe, it was part of a distillery that pumped out over two million gallons of Whiskey a year! Learn how Irelands Whiskey industry went from boom to bust and its current resurgence.

What Our Riders Are Saying

“A Great Find”

Great tour with an excellent guide Laura. I took an electric bike but not really necessary as Dublin is quite flat. Lot’s to see by bike that you would miss on a walking tour.
